Building on a commercial apprenticeship at Metallgesellschaft AG Frankfurt/Main, my consistently practice-oriented career path initially led me into the fields of marketing and communication. Stations at Deutsche Bank AG, Unilever Germany, a medium-sized advertising agency as well as Nixdorf Computer AG shaped my understanding and professional horizon in all disciplines of classical marketing. As my experience grew, so did my responsibilities, first as advertising manager at a medium-sized company, then as managing director of my own agency for corporate design and sales promotion, and later as co-founder and marketing director of CargoLifter AG. Now based in Berlin, my professional focus shifted to business development for technology start-ups. The tasks there ranged from consulting and mentoring to complete start-up management. The most exciting mandates were Skylinc Ltd (LTA-Telekommunikation, UK), Glycotope (Red Biotech, Berlin) and GlycoUniverse GmbH & Co KGaA (automated carbohydrate synthesis), a technology spin-off from the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Potsdam.

Aufbauend auf einer kaufmännischen Ausbildung bei der Metallgesellschaft AG Frankfurt/Main, führte mich mein konsequent an der Praxis ausgerichteter Berufsweg zunächst in die Bereiche Marketing & Kommunikation. Stationen bei Deutsche Bank AG, Unilever Deutschland, zwei mittelständischen Werbeagenturen sowie der Nixdorf Computer AG prägten mein Verständnis und fachlichen Horizont in allen Disziplinen des klassischen Marketings. Mit wachsender Erfahrung wuchs auch die Verantwortung, zunächst als Werbeleiter bei einem Mittelständler, als Geschäftsführer der eigenen Agentur für Corporate Design und Verkaufsförderung sowie später als Mitgründer und Marketing Direktor der CargoLifter AG. Inzwischen in Berlin ansässig, verlagerte sich mein fachlicher Schwerpunkt ins Business Development für Technologie Start-ups. Die Aufgaben reichten dort von Beratung und Mentoring bis Gründungsgeschäftsführung. Die spannendsten Mandate waren Skylinc Ltd. (LTA-Telekommunikation, UK), Glycotope (rote Biotech, Berlin) sowie die GlycoUniverse GmbH & Co KGaA (automatisierte Kohlenhydrat-Synthese), einer Technologie-Ausgründung aus dem Max-Planck-Institut für Kolloid- und Grenzflächenforschung, Potsdam.
